WINTER PERCUSSION IN COMPETITION SEASON
The 2010 Ponderosa Percussion Ensemble will be defending their 2009 State Championship title through the Rocky Mountain Percussion Ensemble (RMPA) competitions from Feb-April.
This year’s 16 member 16 member ensemble will be competing in the top division, World Class. Jason Herron, the group’s director, wrote this year’s show specifically for these talented students.
The group hopes for large crowds to support them as they head into competitions.
Rehearsals take place from 3-6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3-6 prior to competition Saturdays.
There is no practice on Mon 2/15 but will be Tues 2/16 instead.
Spring Break practices: Wed 3/24 9-1, Thurs 3/25 9-1, Fri 3/26 9-1.

February 13 Evaluation Clinic at Northglenn High School
February 27 Loveland HS (finals only)
March 6 Legacy HS (finals only)
March 13 Mountain Range HS (Prelims/finals)
March 20 Regionals -- Northglenn HS
March 27 Longmont HS (finals only)
April 3 State Championships - TBD
Parents are needed for driving kids, driving the truck, being in the pit crew, and more.

CONGRATULATIONS PONDEROSA MARCHING BAND
After months of rehearsals, the 2009 Marching Band season came to a close on Friday, Oct 23rd with the 5A Quarterfinals State Championships and the final home football game performances -- along with all the longstanding traditions for the seniors and the entire band. "That 70's Band Show" was a fun performance enjoyed by the crowd each time, and every member of the band should be proud of what was accomplished on and off the field. (pictures will be uploaded shortly)
A special congratulations and thanks for the memories goes to the 14 Class of 2010 Seniors who led the band with their enthusiasm and dedication!! You will be missed

Sweatshirts and jackets with Ponderosa Band logos are great for parents and siblings to wear to competitions, and make great holiday gifts for band students. Make sure to get your orders in to Anne Ducey by early in December to receive them in time. It takes 2-3 weeks for delivery.

CONGRATULATIONS 2009 STATE CHAMPION PHS PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE!!! "Blazing Progression" the 2009 show by the PHS Percussion Ensemble, took 1st place in state in the Concert Open Division at the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association State Championships at Legend High School on April 11th. After being postponed by weather the weekend before, the championships were moved to Parker and the PHS ensemble played before a cheering hometown crowd before taking home the championship. The group is under the direction of Jason Herron. Following their win they've been featured in YourHub, the Parker Chronicle, the PHS Website, E-Stampede, DCSD Newsline, the PHS sign, and also played before the entire school in a special assembly. The group starts practicing in November and is open to any band students, not just percussionists. Think about joining them beginning in November
