MARCHING BAND PICNIC -- Sunday May 3rd
UPDATE: DUE TO WET WEATHER, THE PICNIC HAS BEEN MOVED INSIDE TO PRADERA (SEE BELOW) FROM 1-3. It's still a potluck, with the meal changed to lasagna. hope to see everyone there.
It's time for some fun -- so everyone is invited to a cookout/picnic for some good food and good friends this Sunday, May 3rd from 1-5pm. Hamburgers, hot dogs and rinks will be provided. If your last name is A-L bring a salad/side dish, and if you're a M-Z please bring a dessert. All family members are welcome --- AND WE ENCOURAGE OUR INCOMING 8TH GRADE BAND MEMBERS TO COME GET TO KNOW SOME OF YOUR FELLOW BAND MEMBERS!! If the weather is good the event will be at the Ducey's home at 10780 Vista Rd in the Parker Vista subdivision (Mainstreet just east of Town Hall). If it's raining it will be in the Pradera Clubhouse on Craftsman off of Bayou Gulch (on west side of Parker Road). Call Anne Ducey at 720-851-9860 to let her know how many are coming. WELCOME 8TH GRADE FAMILIES!!! WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU.
BAND CONCERT -- MAY 6TH
The last time the Class of 2009 will be playing in concert at PHS will be May 6th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. Don't miss inspiring performances by the Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2009 -- WE'VE LOVED HAVING YOU IN THE PHS BAND PROGRAM AND GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
BAND BANQUET -- May 8th
The annual band banquet is all about reminiscing about the year that was and celebrating what is to come!!! This event will be at 6:30pm at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church and will feature a catered dinner, awards, slide show, speeches and some fond farewells. CONGRATULATIONS 2009 STATE CHAMPION PHS PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE!!!!
"Blazing Progression" the 2009 show by the PHS Percussion Ensemble, took 1st place in state in the Concert Open Division at the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association State Championships at Legend High School on April 11th. After being postponed by weather the weekend before, the championships were moved to Parker and the PHS ensemble played before a cheering hometown crowd before taking home the championship. The group is under the direction of Jason Herron. Following their win they've been featured in YourHub, the Parker Chronicle, the PHS Website, E-Stampede, DCSD Newsline, the PHS sign, and also played before the entire school in a special assembly. The group starts practicing in November and is open to any band students, not just percussionists. Think about joining them next year!!!

JAZZ ENSEMBLE AT D-NOTE JAZZ

PHS WIND ENSEMBLE AT FESTIVAL
The PHS Wind Ensemble played in the CHSSA Large Group Music Festival on April 8th and received a SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE rating. CONGRATULATIONS TO EACH AND EVERY MUSICIAN WHO PLAYED FLAWLESSLY AS A GROUP in a prestigious competition.
